Nice of you to drop by. If you’ve found your way here, you’re most likely a film-maker, an author, or comic book creator after some press for your product. You’ve come to the right place! If not, then you may be a lover of popular culture, just like me, and are keen to find a hub in which you can gorge yourself on all manners of geeky films, TV shows and comics, such as the ones I write about. If so, you’ve hit the jackpot! What’s most likely is that you’re someone who’s stumbled onto this site accidentally thinking it was somewhere you can watch the latest trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. If so, I’ve let you down and humbly apologise.
By day, I’m a mild-mannered video journalist for local television channel Estuary TV, a role in which I report on news and current affairs in the Lincolnshire area for the channel’s flagship news programme Estuary News. I produce broadcast content, including in-depth packages, bulletin and interview pieces, covering such topics as local community, business, arts, sports and culture in Lincolnshire.
By night however, I’m a different beat of a journalist altogether. My life-long love of science-fiction as told through the mediums of comics, television and films has given way to a passion for writing about these creative arts for a variety of digital and print publications that cover the popular culture spectrum. I thrill in writing reviews and original features pieces on all manners of movies, comics and TV shows, as well as interviewing industry pros about their craft. I currently serve as a contributing writer for Starburst Magazine, A Place To Hang Your Cape, PopMatters and Andersonic Fanzine. I also serve as A Place To Hang Your Cape’s senior editor, a role in which I manage the site’s daily publishing of articles, my intrepid team of geeky scribblers, and liaise with the indie comic industry in promoting comics from around the world.
